The Find: What do you get when you put a room, a damn fine barista and plenty of espresso together? ............The Espresso Room.

Located in Bloomsbury, a stone's throw from Great Ormond Street Hospital and in walking distance of St Pancras / Euston stations, The Espresso Room is a welcome sight at this end of town.

They claim to serve "The Best Coffee in Bloomsbury" and that's no lie. Ben (owner and operator) is a self confessed coffee geek.... he's worked in some of the best coffee bars in Melbourne and since trained hundreds of wannabe coffee bods around the UK. But now he's going it alone, and about time too. Only 8 weeks into his new venture Ben has already established a name for himself on the London map.

Their coffee is from Square Mile with guest coffees from Has Bean, their cakes are from Bea's of Bloomsbury, and their tea from Postcard Teas. A superb combination of suppliers in anyone's book.

Decor is simple yet contemporary. A large central bar, chalk board menus and benches both inside and out. On the wall is a cubic display of coffee beans for you to buy and enjoy at home.

On your next lunch break take a stroll up this road and treat yourself to a flattie, you will not be disappointed. Grab a loyalty card too and in 5 more visits you can bag yourself a free one.

This place may be pocket-sized, but who cares. Good things come in small packages, right?

*News* Well done to Ben and the team at The Espresso Room for scooping this years "Best New Coffee" in the Timeout Eating And Drinking Awards 2010 - incredibly well deserved. This little place will now be packed to the rafters so get there early! Read more about the Timeout Awards here
