The Find: Let's get straight to the point - The Missing Bean is by far the best place to drink coffee in Oxford. At last, someone has brought good coffee to this vibrant and historical city.

This independently run espresso bar with a friendly buzz and antipodean style coffee is a perfect place to stop when you are need of a caffiene fix in this lovely city. A combination of well trained baristas, a La Mazocco and decent beans (Glasgow roasted, distributed by locally based UE coffee) result in a decent cup of coffee with every visit.

There's a fair number of seats but at weekends it gets busy. You'll have to hang around in the doorway and bag yourself a table when you see someone doing the "just leaving" shuffle. The window seats are a particular treat - you can't beat watching the Oxford bods go by whilst sipping a very satisfying cup of joe.
Food offerings go from sandwiches, cakes and muffins to pastries, cookies and doughnuts - all very simple but do the trick everytime.

You'd be mad to miss this bean.
